Janbiya, also spelled jambia, jambya, jambiya, and janbia (Arabic: جنبية‎ janbīyah, Kurdish: xencer‎), is the Arabic term for dagger, but it is generally used to describe a specific type of dagger with a short curved blade and a medial ridge. The term janbiya is used more often in Yemen as well as in India and it is most closely associated with the people of Najran in Saudi Arabia, and Yemen, north of africa.

This is a curved dagger, also known as ‘jambiya’, with a slightly bent double-edged blade with a middle ridge or central rib running along it's full length in the center on both sides of the blade. These Yemeni Jambiya Dagger hilts are made of horn. The wooden sheath is covered in genuine leather that is reddish brown. In addition, the hilt and sheath feature finely crafted filigree metal decoration in a silver alloy, as well as stitched black leather bands.
